Title of session:

Blogging

Description:

Scardamalia and Bereiter (1994) paraphrasing Alan Kay (1991) wrote "...the phenomenon of reframing innovations to recreate the familiar is itself commonplace."

I have been found guilty of reframing an innovation to recreate the familiar; my only solace is that as is suggested, this practice is commonplace. The innovation was the weblog and my crime was to use it to facilitate an asynchronous discussion.

This paper represents the lessons learnt from an online teaching experience in the facilitation of an online discussion.
