Experiences getting started with digital video

Description:

This session will share some of the lessons learnt experimenting with the development and delivery of digital video resources. Grant and Carey have been involved in a couple of projects over the last year involving the need for video to meet specific elearning needs. Projects have made use of professional actors and trained videographers as well as some 'do it yourself' experimenting. This presentation is a beginner's look at experiences of planning and filming through to editing and delivering. It will cover some challenges and practical solutions for people wanting to include digital video with their elearning materials.

Biography:

Grant is a trained teacher with experience in developing and using technology resources in a wide range of educational contexts. He currently works within the eCampus team at UCOL Palmerston North.

Carey is an instructional designer at UCOL. She comes from an educational background in multimedia design and has been involved in the creative design industry. Carey taught in Wellington for a number of years before joining UCOL.
