Title of session:

Problem-based scenarios in practice-elearning for plant disease diagnosis

Description:

This presentation discusses the use of problem-based scenarios to teach the process of plant disease diagnosis. It reflects experience gathered over 15 years using an authoring and delivery tool called "Diagnosis for Crop Problems" (http://www.diagnosis.co.nz). This tool, which has undergone significant development over the years, will be demonstrated and described. Student survey results will be presented, and tutor experiences shared. The experience gained with Diagnosis for Crop Problems is now being applied to a more generic problem-based e-learning project (see http://pbl.massey.ac.nz).
