Title of session:

A Low Threshold Application approach to developing interactive scenario-based simulations

Description:

Scenario-based simulations and role plays are an important component in eLearning that is focused on interpersonal communication, problem solving and problem based learning.

Workbase: The New Zealand Centre for Workforce Literacy Development and TANZ, the Tertiary Accord of New Zealand, are collaborating in an eCDF project to develop an online literacy resource package for those teaching in situations where literacy is a learning issue.

This package features a series of scenario-based interactive simulations and role plays developed using a Low Threshold Application (LTA) approach to web-based simulations.

The presentation will look at a method of developing powerful interactive scenario-based simulations and role-plays without the costs, technical issues and logistical difficulties of video production. It will include a demonstration of several LTA type simulations.
