Title of session:

Audio files for te reo atatua-basic te reo Maori

Description:

This talk summarises aspects of e-learning to complement existing the existing Te Reo Atahua programme.

The programme currently involves students obtaining workbooks and listening to a radio programme, broadcast twice daily from Monday to Thursday.

The initial study examined the issue of providing a means for students to access the radio programme component over the Internet. This would allow a student to listen to a programme at a time to suit, if a programme has been missed, and as often as needed.

This 'asynchronous channel' for delivery might make the programme more accessible for other possible audiences.

Finally, the study identified opportunities and advantages in delivering the programmes on CD-ROMs in alternative formats.
