Title of session:

Blended delivery within a BN programme-the challenges of getting the right blend

Description:

"Blended delivery" has been used in the Bachelor of Nursing programme at UCOL since 2003. The Centre for Education Technologies and the School of Nursing at UCOL worked in partnership to develop a piloted blended delivery course to improve delivery and gain experience with the issues of centralised course design and distributed course delivery across multiple campuses. A mix of traditional delivery methods and information technology was chosen.

Study guide templates, formative assessments, discussion boards, websites and CD-Roms were developed to meet a variety of learning needs and styles. This paper describes the progress of the project and its effect on teaching and learning within the BN programme.
