Title of session:

Data-driven multimedia learning objects

Description:

Re-usable, easily-maintained learning objects are in their infancy. There are systems that can generate page navigation and multi-choice questions for you, but this is not very exciting or 'immersive' for the student. On the other hand, multimedia Flash files that increase interactivity are difficult to maintain and re-purpose. The presenter has been working on overcoming this problem by developing a Flash learning-object-player which reads an XHTML data file. Bruce Webster will show some examples of his learning objects and discuss his progress.
