Title of session:

Collaboration across institutions

Category:

Paper

Description:

Use of technology in learning requires institutions to rethink business models. They may choose to 'move' in how they interact with one another. Institutions can move towards increased competition or collaboration. Terry will present a model of factors to consider when collaborating across institutions, developed during her FLLinNZ year visiting examples of collaboration overseas. She will describe how she has applied this model in the eCDF project 'eCapability development' which she is managing this year.

Biography:

Terry Neal has managed three cross-institutional e-Learning projects for the Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics NZ. She is presently managing a fourth and is involved in steering or reference groups for several other projects. Because of her interest in how institutions work together for flexible learning, she visited thirteen examples of collaboration between institutions overseas during 2005/06 as part of her Flexible Learning Leaders in New Zealand year.
