Description:

Possible options for professional development include regional seminars, online courses and qualifications in eLearning, technical ‘snippets’ sessions, in-depth coaching and mentoring, national and international conferences. Hear and share stories about experience of these strategies, and whether they provide benefits and remove barriers for productive staff professional development, especially for staff who are coming to grips with e-learning in their own institutions.

Biography:

Stephen Bright has recently taken up a position as the e-Learning Developments Manager for Bethlehem Tertiary Institute. He has worked in the ITP sector for the last 21 years, and been involved in staff development at Waikato Institute of Technology for 14 years, before moving to his current position. He has been involved with online learning courses since 1997. He was selected to be a member of the first FLLinNZ group (Flexible Learning Leaders in New Zealand) in 2004 and was recently awarded a research grant from ASCILITE to research a process and framework for reviewing e-teaching.
