Engaging students is at the core of successful learning experiences. This conversation is an opportunity to discuss:

  • setting the scene for blended learning
  • dealing with the players, and   
  • taking interactivity and learning to a new level.
Biography:

Carole works as an Academic Tutor at NMIT’s Marlborough Campus.  She has worked in the tertiary sector for over 14 years in the UK and for the past six years in New Zealand.  Carole teaches on a variety of programmes including BCom, DipBus and CertEd(Adult).  In 2006 she co-tutored, with Jane, the Professional Communications blended course, run part classroom and part online for the first time. This was her first experience of facilitating online learning.   

Jane works as a Flexible Learning Advisor and as Certificate in Adult Teaching Coordinator at NMIT, based in Nelson. She has worked with adult learners for 15 years. Her experience includes five years directing management development programmes in New Zealand and two years managing an Australian workplace assessment programme. In the online learning environment Jane has experience as a degree student, coach and facilitator. Last year she co-tutored, with Carole, the newly blended Professional Communications course.
