We live in an age of technology with increasing numbers of students who are exposed to technology from a very early age. Therefore our teaching delivery needs to reflect the needs of the technically astute audiences.
This presentation tells the story of how Waiariki Institute of Technology developed a solution to meet their learners’ needs whilst also ensuring they engaged fully with their stakeholders in a collaborative product development process. The outcome of the project is a web-based technology product, Vidtrainme©.
Research conducted in May-June 2006 concluded that there was a need to move away from the traditional physical class room teaching methods (Patel, 2006). The authors explain action research, how it was applied during the collaboration that took place during the product development lifecycle of Vidtrainme©.
