Category:

Presentation

Description:

As one teacher stated, “Group participation has been excellent as we hear so many different perspectives.”  EIT's programme for registering teachers has been delivered for nearly three years. It differs from many other teacher registration processes in that it is designed as a collaborative group learning experience.  Online technology, using Moodle, is a pivotal tool for building the community of practice.  Teachers must participate in online dialogue pertaining to the Teachers’ Council registration requirements.  This presentation will include perceptions of how well the online component works and provide teachers’ stories of participating in this community of practice.  Some conclusions about the online learning environment will be made.
