In September 2005 each school at Waiariki Institute of Technology was requested to nominate a staff member to work on integrating technology into current taught programmes (e-Stars). Initially four staff members were identified from different schools. Business & Computing, Tourism & Hospitality, Forestry & Wood Processing and Nursing & Health Studies. Within months only two tutors remained within the original brief. Since the inception of e-Stars there have been many barriers to overcome, both personal and organisational. The main aim of this presentation is to demonstrate how change and progress in teaching technologies can be achieved by lecturers with little or no knowledge and training within the technological environment.
