Description:

The Bay of Plenty Polytechnic is exploring the delivery of programmes in flexible learning mode, and what exactly that means to the institution. Key to this is exploring the wider institutional understanding of flexible delivery through involving all departments across the organisation, including libraries, student services, facilities etc to achieve successful outcomes for students through developing appropriate responses in systems, procedures etc.

What does flexible learning mean for the institution?
What are the new roles for non-academic staff?
How can learning and other support be provided when students aren't on campus?
How can the student support services best support flexible learners?
How can closer working relations be established across the institution to best facilitate support for flexible learning?

Biography:

Lin Ayo as Manager of Student Services has a wealth of experience in supporting students in their learning experience. Ensuring that the same quality of support is provided in different delivery modes has been the major focus for Lin and the Education Development Centre (EDC) Team over the last two years.  Hannah Lore is a Computer Tutor in the EDC. Technology is Hannah's passion and her goal is to make technology accessible for all students.    Amy Wilson is the Flexible Learning Adviser in the Teaching and Learning Development Centre.  Amy believes that improving working relations between departments will serve to increase the learning options for the Polytechnic's students.
